The Theatre of Dionysos - Athens
The Theatre of Dionysos on the south-eastern slope of the Acropolis....built of timber in the 6th century BC.....then re-constructed in marble and stone around 340 BC and holding 15,000 spectators. The marble thrones are an ancient version of the most expensive front stall seats at the Rod Laver Arena.
